Astasense Limited ( AS ) is a spin-off company from Aston University’s Photonics Research Group and is based in Birmingham in the UK. The company offers research and development expertise and consultancy in the following:

- Fibre Bragg gratings and long period gratings

- Optical sensing

- Polymer optical fibre devices

- Femtosecond materials processing.

The company was set-up to commercialise technology developed at universities and speed up the exploitation routes for this technology.
